Subaru Titanium Fender Badge: S209 (pair)

TiFender-S209

This item is a hand-cut piece of Rectangular Titanium Sheet. I round the corners and edges so it's not sharp and hand-shape it to fit the fender profile using an original silver template from a real S209. I can leave it silver or color the metal. I can engrave pretty much anything on it. If you want a custom image, choose the option for "Custom Engraving", then email me a JPEG of the image you want.

These come with 3M VHB adhesive on the back so you can install it in the stock location using the same type of adhesive as the stock badges. These are made from pure titanium so they are corrosion-resistant. They should only be cleaned using Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcholol) or acetone (nail polish remover) on a soft clean rag/paper towel. They should not be cleaned with claybar EVER (it will remove the finish), and should be dried with care during a carwash so the cloth does not catch on the corner and attempt to peel them off (the adhesive is as strong as the factory glue, but still, be careful when drying around them).

INSTALLATION:

First carefully peel the original plastic badge off the car's fender. Then spend time to clean the badge area with acetone or alcohol to remove all residue, old adhesive, and grime. This is very important.

Second, wear some latex or nitrile gloves to prevent your finger oils from getting on the titainum badge and the adhesive (the glue will lose its effectiveness if you put residue on it).

Third, before you peel the plastic off the badge, make sure the badge fits your fender perfectly by pressing it into place. The S209 badges come flat and require a slight gentle bend by the customer, so make sure they lay flat from left to right before you glue it on. Do not kink the metal by folding it in one place, apply gentle pressure over a large section to add a gradual bend.

Fourth, once the new badge aligns to the fender, peel the plastic backing off. Then pre-heat the adhesive with a hair dryer right before pressing it onto the car. This will increase the adhesive bond. Once it's warm (don't melt it), press it onto the fender precisely into place and hold it in position for several seconds to ensure the bond is solid. You should be all set.
