Sadly, I've decided to part with my first 911. I have a newborn and 2 other sports cars and need to part with something in order to get a car with a more usable back seat that can fit baby seats. I've tried in this, and the rear-facing seats just don't fit unless the passenger seat is folded forward. VIN: WP0AD29957S786673 My 911 has been well cared-for in the 2 years I've owned it, my last bit of fun before parental responsibilities took over. The Mezger motor is known for being bulletproof but has one major issue, the cams can spin on their bearings which blocks the oil passage which allows variable value timing to work. This happened while I owned it (lucky me), so I had the best people fix it: Town Porsche in Englewood NJ and we used AIM Performance pinned cams for the repair. The engine has to be removed for this repair, so while it was out my tech also replaced the cam actuators ($400) and changed the spark plugs because those are hard to reach normally. The cam fix costs around $10,000, and all Mezger engines are prone to this failure. New cams cost $8K from the factory so the pinned cam option is widely considered the best replacement because even brand new cams can also spin. Luckily (for you) this has been fixed so all of the major concerns have been addressed and future failure points have been replaced with new items. The coolant lines are also pinned. Also this year, we repaired the corroded battery bulkhead connector (common TSB issue), and installed a new starter from Bosch. Last year I installed a new battery and replaced the front lower control arms (left & right) due to a torn ball joint on one side.
